State forest camping in Victoria, page 7

Planning your trip

Victoria's state forest camping areas are run by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, not Parks Victoria. Most are first come, first served and many are free, though you should check the rules for each area. Some are simple clearings with few or no facilities, so plan to be self-sufficient.

The Explore Outdoors Victoria camping pages explain state forest camping rules, including campfires, dogs and how long you can stay. Check fire restrictions before you travel, as total fire ban days and seasonal closures apply. Billy Camp lists the camping areas recorded as state forest in official sources.
